In more Gearbox Software news today, the developer has updated their official Gearboxity blog
, proudly announcing that the upcoming Borderlands 2 will be uncut worldwide, offering the same level of mature content in all retail territories.
Do you live in Germany? Australia? Bandits will be just as likely to explode into bloody chunks of awesomeness as they will be in Canada or England (which is to say: very likely.)
The developer also promises a "Gore toggle" for those that prefer to tone things down.
The original Borderlands was rated MA15+ by the Australian Classification Board without requiring censorship for it's Aussie launch, however, a Steam error at the time resulted in some Aussie gamers accidentally getting a censored install of the game
, which to our knowledge was only intended for German customers.
It's uncertain if the German classification approval of an uncensored game this time around means that Borderlands 2 will be notably less violent than its predecessor, or if German standards toward violent content have simply relaxed in the past three years.
Borderlands 2 received the MA15+ stamp from the ACB in late june
, and is due to launch on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Australia on September 21st 2012.
