Just a friendly reminder for those who have been waiting for another chance to explore the world of Tyria, that the next Guild Wars 2 beta will begin this weekend. Make sure you have all your snacks and drinks stockpiled and remember that your previous beta characters haven't been deleted.
My name is Chris Whiteside, and I’m the lead producer of Guild Wars 2. Normally, I’m head-down in the trenches, making sure we’re producing the best MMO possible, but I wanted to come up for air and share some exciting news with you:
Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (June 9th, 5am AEST) and will run until Sunday, June 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (June 11th, 4:59am AEST).
NCSoft has also released some helpful news on what to expect in this weekends testing, including a new dungeon, expanded World vs World and a range of more changes which you can find here. Make sure you also keep an eye out on the official forums for any important news and announcements.

Performance doesn't seem any better, which is pretty disappointing. I'm surprised that they didn't wipe the characters though.

I personally haven't noticed as much of a performance hit, seems to run a lot smoother for me now. The UI changes are decent, and can only get better, though the resizable map is a nice touch. Combat is now feeling more efficient, in that it actually feels like I'm hitting the target. Chat bubbles are nice as well, can actually tell what people are saying.
