Originally slated for a Q3 2012 launch, a post on the official Tomb Raider blog has confirmed that Crystal Dynamic's upcoming reboot of the iconic franchise has been delayed until "the first quarter of 2013".

Given that we haven't had any new media from the game since E3 2011, this announcement is not entirely surprising. Crystal Dynamics Studio Head Darrell Gallagher had this to say on the matter:
We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait. The game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.
Tomb Raider is in development for PC, Xbox 360 and PlaySation 3.
