Publisher Blackbean has announced a new title from Italian studio and racing game veterans Milestone, the third addition to their officially licensed off-road franchise WRC 3.
WRC 3 features all the rallies in the 2012 WRC calendar, complete with all leading WRC teams and drivers in the revamped career mode. WRC 3 also features a brand new graphics engine, called Spikengine, allowing Milestone to accurately model lighting, particle effects and other real-world characteristics to create an in-game virtual reality, offering complete immersion in the WRC universe. The cars themselves showcase new modelling techniques - they have never looked as life-like, or handled as realistically, as in WRC 3. Milestone has streamlined every aspect of the game to allow new players instant gameplay satisfaction, while still allowing experienced rally gamers to explore the game’s full range of features and drive a WRC car from the comfort of their own home.
Despite being only six months out from the October 2012 release date for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the announcement is unusually low-tech with no trailers and the first set of screenshots only feature environments, without a car in sight. Nevertheless, you can take a closer look at them here on our new WRC 3 game page.

Yeah that is odd, why would you advertise a rally game without even showing a car?

Sssshhh, it'll TOTALLY make that release date...

Games do that ALL THE TIME (make release dates that is).

I've not played any of the WRC games at all... can anyone comment on whether or not the series was worth bothering with?

To my knowledge as far as 'Rally Racing' on PC goes, it's still with 'Richard Burns Rally' and the now extensive mod scene that supports it...

Dirt 2 was fun (and s***-tonnes of fun in eyefinity) bt dirt 3 was properly poo with a steering wheel...

I take it a car will be Day 0 DLC?
