It might seem like a strange decision to add multiplayer to Max Payne 3, but according to Rockstar it's actually something that was even on the drawing board for the first two games.

The obvious reason it was never fully realised though, was how to translate Max's signature single-player bullet-time moves into a mode with multiple human players. Rockstar feels they've nailed the problems down though, and with a basic line-of-sight rule that applies to bullet-time, it definitely seems that way. We actually had a chance to try it out first-hand though, and can happily report it definitely does work. We also got knee-deep into a lot of what else is on offer in the game's multiplayer though, and put together a preview for you.

Sounds pretty good, its a pity Max Payne one had so many technical glitches it wouldn't run on my old system. Was very annoyed by that.

I like the idea of gang wars, sounds like a cool theme and a lot of fun. If a friend gets it I'll try before I buy.

But actually buying another Max Payne is difficult after not even being allowed to play the product I purchased originally. Once burnt twice shy. Looks good though.

Hi,

Purchased and played both of the original and loved them. Pre-ordered this one through I doubt what the reviewer is saying here in terms of map design and character models will be changed at this late stage.

If the game is coming out in the next couple of weeks, chances are that what they were playing was pretty damn near finished. It has never been the case that a couple of weeks before launch they suddenly decide to revamp major elements of the same. Map design and models have most likely been iterated over numberous times and have been finalised.

Whats there is there...
