We're starting to hand out the very last few Diablo 3 keys (thanks again Blizzard!), so if you missed out please keep an eye out on our beta key giveaway page for keys as they go up.

We'll be giving them away in random small batches over the afternoon, with priority given to members who have been around for a while - but newbies will still have a chance to get one. Keep an eye out in the comments to this news post for more information.

At this point I've mostly given up to be honest; just two months until the game is out so the beta is of limited value. Plus, if they do like they did with Starcraft 2, more and more beta keys will be handed out as the final release comes closer.

Yeah, I was looking for months and months, and now there's FINALLY a release date, there's been more and more keys being given out. What's the point in that. Even though i'll still never get one...

The Achievement requirements are in place to give preference to the many regular visitors we have who we feel should get first go at these keys because they are in high demand, as opposed to the majority of them going to people who have signed up exclusively for the purpose of getting a key and, sadly, will probably never be back again.

I'm sorry we can't give every single person a key that wants one; I would love nothing more than to give out keys to everyone who is keen to try it, but we have an extremely limited number of these things so we're trying to make it "fair" by giving first preference to regular users and our long standing user base. Clicking "play" on 20 videos is not exactly in the spirit of why that requirement is in place.

I am sort of a little surprised that people who have been trying for a while to get a key haven't been running around racketing up achievements over the last couple of weeks given that we made it fairly clear we were using them as a method to prioritise distribution - I guess the clever people that figured that out will get first dibs :)

Next batch will NOT require any achievements, so it will go fast.

We're going to ask Blizzard if we can get some more, but we don't expect that we will - with the release date announced we fully expect the beta to be winding down over the next few weeks and I suspect they have enough people in it to do their beta testing stuff.

Thanks to everyone for hanging out trying to get a key and sorry that we weren't able to give one to everyone - I hope the people that did get one enjoy some game time, but everyone else - at least you now know how long you have to wait for, and it's not much longer!

I managed to snag a key earlier on, and sat through the download for most of the afternoon.. I've been a big Diablo fan since the first one, and to be honest.. even the log in screen is somewhat exciting for me, even with error 33 :)
