The GeForce RTX 4060 is out this week, and NVIDIA let us check out the new mainstream GPU early to see what DLSS 3 brings to Cyberpunk 2077 and the still-gorgeous Night City.
EA, Bioware and Lucas Arts have just announced the latest patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic, titled Patch 1.2 - Legacy. Going live in April 2012, Legacy will introduce new high level group content and community-requested features including PvP Warzone Rankings and Guild Banks, along with enhancements to the game’s innovative Legacy system.
Game Update 1.2 presents the next evolution of the Legacy system. Players can now link their different characters together into a single family tree, giving them the power to unlock and share special Legacy-only abilities.
Players can further customize new characters by unlocking different species from any class in their family tree. The Legacy system also provides fun new convenience items for player ships, including an on-board mailbox and Galactic Trade Network terminal. Companion Character affection and moral alignment will also benefit from Legacy bonuses, giving players even more control over their crew mates.
Along with Legacy changes, BioWare announced Star Wars: The Old Republic’s “Friends Trial” program, allowing subscribers to invite as many as three of their friends for a seven-day free game trial. Among these large changes is also UI customisation, a much sought after feature from current subscribers, giving players a more personal way of sorting their UI. Also in patch 1.2 there will be three new pieces of content, a Flashpoint, a Warzone and a Operation, each with their own backstory.
As well as the news of Patch 1.2, Bioware is also conducting a Star Wars The Old Republic Guild Summit (thanks Beanith), the first of it's kind. Guild representatives will participate in roundtable feedback discussions with developers, and will get a preview of some upcoming game features.
This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to voice their feedback directly to the teams responsible for the design of Star Wars: The Old Republic, hear the team's thoughts and reasons behind design decisions, and discuss the current direction of the game.
You can check out the full list of upcoming features over here in the press release, as well as the trailer below detailing all that's to come in Patch 1.2. To watch the Star Wars Guild Summit, head over to the live feed here, or follow @swtor on Twitter for live coverage, but be quick, it's nearly over!
I probably would have kept playing if they had a "looking for group" instead of sitting around on fleet running laps seeing if anyone else was interested in running something. Have they ever indicated that they would have this?
deusBAAL: Will you be providing a LFG tool? What will be its features? How will it be intended to work and when can we expect it to go live?
Daniel Erickson (Lead Writer): We are hard at work on a much more robust LFG functionality that will quickly help put groups together while still offering the flexibility to decide how you group and what sort of people you want to be grouped with. We’ll release more details as we get closer to release.

That will be in 1.3 apparently
Game update 1.2 will also bring a new Flashpoint, Lost Island. In 1.3, we will also be introducing Group Finder.
i would like to play this but paying a subscription $16.50/month...i'm out. surely they make enough $ from advertising and the game itself?
If you can't see the value for money that $16.50 provides than that is your loss.
And what money do they make from advertising. The website doesn't have any ad's short of advertising its own product and there is no in game advertising...

It is funny that an mmo today with out it got 9.5 from Ausgamers.
It is also funny that fan boys on the forums will actively defend the choice not to have it as being completely normal and fine... in fact it ruined wow! ... apparently.
Subscription fees are not required, as proven by Guild Wars and soon to be Guild Wars 2. The problem is most people are used to it and cannot see through the mist. This game... is not worth $15 a month, it has major issues with it's core engine, watch your framerate when you open any 2D element (Inventory etc). It has more bugs then most F2P games. The only reason it could have possibly received a is 9.5 because it's Star Wars.
If they want me to come back, they need to entice me to keep playing. I stopped playing because levelling had no real difference after level 10, everyone just went to the same place and so it got dull if I created more then one character. Sure WoW was the same in the early levels, but you could usually choose between 2-3 zones after level 15ish.

Couldn't agree more, They switch it up between Republic and Empire though, so that's a reason to have at least one alt on the other faction. I thought it was cool heading to Balmoral as a empire player during a time of supposed peace and seeing the story from a completely different side...
But yes, having a choice at say every 10 levels to go to 1 or 2 planets would be cool, But it would also make the game a lot more evolved. The story is written so tightly so that it all pieces together. Even the FP are written to coincide with what's going on with your class quest/planet quests. Adding more choice would start making the story messy.. That's not to say its not doable, but im sure the dev's look at the idea as a huge f*****g task.
people "bork" at the subscription fees because sooner rather than later pretty much every AAA MMO will have a subscription model because it will be considered the norm, that's fine if you only want play one game every month or two and if thats all you can afford each month play it until you run out of credit. yes i agree with the patchs and dlc but once this becomes the normal thing game company's wont care as much because every game will require a fee to play. people are getting sucked in to thinking $15 a month is nothing, how many people pay that each month? do the math and see how much money they rake in and then ask yourself is $15 a month worth it. EA are even looking at a subscription model of some sort for BF3....bollocks to that.
So your decision on whether its worth $15 a month or not is based on how much profit the developer is making, not how much its personally worth to you? Isn't that a bit odd? I spend more than $15 on lunch most days, so yeah, its pretty much nothing.
Not that I think all games should become subscription based, or would benefit from being subscription based, but in this case it works.

at the same time, I went to try and level a character in WoW the other day and I was dead bored. Upside of the old republic is there's a solid story to entice you. Don't think I've actually read a quest in WoW since The Burning Crusade.
But each to their own. I have a few character nearing 20 and I've really enjoyed all of them so far.

but why, if constant updates and new content, I've put more hours into BF3 than I did Rift, and I played through almost all the Rift content and paid monthly to do it.
do a normal run of boarding party. open all 8 chests and kill the 4 bosses. it takes about 10 mins to do one run and you get about 40-45k from each run after selling loot. repeat as many times as you want.

Some big changes... Going to be sick!

I dont see why people bork at it, when the game is constantly upgraded and maintained.

2.5 million.
the crystals with expertise on them are only 1 million i think.
80% of the population has less that 1 million credits, so only the hard core players are going to afford these.
