Lionhead Studios has showcased their latest addition to the Fable franchise with a new Xbox Live Arcade titled Fable Heroes, at the Microsoft Spring Showcase 2012. It's clear to see there is a large change to this new Fable, with a striking resemblance to Castle Crashers or similar Xbox Live Arcade game, with the very cartoon like art style.
“Fable Heroes” is an action-packed hack-and-slash adventure set in the “Fable” universe and will launch this spring on Xbox LIVE Arcade. It offers a fresh spin on the “Fable” franchise, taking playful competition to the next level with four player co-op, time trials and leaderboards on Xbox LIVE.

In “Fable Heroes” players work together to defeat enemies while also competing with each other to collect gold coins, which will level up their character and unlock unique items in “Fable: The Journey” when it launches later this year.
While a departure from the usual chicken murder spree and moral choices, this new Fable looks to broach the arcade style gameplay that we are seeing more of. If it worked for Castle Crashers, could this possibly work for a Fable arcade game of the same style?

Check out the gameplay trailer from Microsoft Spring Show 2012, and if you're eager for more, head over to our game page where we have some fresh screenshots giving you a taste of what's to come.

PM needs to get back to his roots. He did such amazing work with simple Amiga hardware (populous, syndicate, powermonger, for example)

Then Dungeon Siege was great too on a pentium 120!

WTF happened? Money, microsoft, consoles.... blah blah blah and we have fable days. Ignoring PCs!

Please, now, PM. Make some more classics before you go senile and start making xbox live games for people who don't know who you are. :S
