For the first time, Microsoft and 343 Studios are giving players a behind-the-scenes look at their upcoming entry into the biggest exclusive Xbox series ever, Halo 4. The trailer shows off Master Chief in all his glory, picking up from the end of Halo 3, and giving a hint at what's in-store story-wise.
Halo 4 is the next blockbuster installment in the iconic franchise that's shaped entertainment history and defined a decade of gaming. Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012.
Halo 4 is being developed by 343 Studios, the dev studio that took over from Halo creators Bungie. The Halo trilogy has gone on to sell more then 40 million copies worldwide, a massive feat for an Xbox exclusive. It could even be said that Halo helped float Microsoft's first venture into the console era with their original Xbox.

Check out the trailer below showing off the behind the scenes with 343 Studios, or head over to our game page where we have the latest screenshots for your viewing pleasure.

Is it confirmed as a 360 title? Seems with new xbox in the works, it would make more sense if this was a launch title for that system. I know the original xbox launched with the Halo, did the 360 launch with a Halo game?

Yes. It's definitely an Xbox 360 game. The developers are boasting it as the best looking game on the 360 to date.

Well it says at the end of the trailer its coming out this year, so I'd assume 360, cos I can't see the new Microsoft console launching this year.

@tspec the 360 did not ship with a halo game , halo 3 came out about a year after release i think. With regards to halo 4, i'm a bit wary when it is a change of studio and they say things like " more cinematic" does that mean a on rails mw3 yawn fest? i hope not...

The studio does know Halo pretty well though, they made the Halo: Anniversary remake, and I think they helped out on Reach as well. And Frank O'Connor is still involved with it too from the looks of that video, so I've got faith
