Steam have just sent word that their latest venture into mobile app technology, the Steam Mobile App, is now available to anyone on iOS and Android. This app gives users the ability to access Steam on the go, including friends list, Steam Store and the community channels.
  • Connect With Friends - Steam on your mobile phone is the easiest way to keep up with your Steam friends while on the go.

  • Steam Chat - Now you can take your Steam chats away from your computer with Steam for iOS and Android.

  • Shop Steam - Browse the extensive Steam library of Windows and Mac titles from your phone. Find out about Steam sales wherever you are.
  • Android users can find the app over on the market here, as well as a download of version 1.0.6 here. Apple users can find the app through iTunes here or on the App market.

I jump on the chat a bit.
Takes 20 seconds to load up/sync when you start it, but otherwise pretty good.
Uses a little more bandwidth than irc or similar.
Way less crappy than the facebook app.
Haven't tried the shop or other functions yet though, not sure if I will at some point either.
