As part of the Foxtel Channel release on the Xbox 360 dashboard, three new channels have been announced by Microsoft via press release to be joining the fray: Cartoon Network, ESPN2 and Footy Play (Fox Sports).

Cartoon Network joins the channel as part of the "Get Started" package, while ESPN2 lands as part of the "Sports" package, and both at no extra cost. They're available from today, February 14.

February 17 will see the addition of Footy Play, a dedicated AFL channel, that will set you back an additional $20 per month on top of your Sports package (so $49.50 per month in total).

Can i chip in with the news that Foxtel has two new channels debuting very soon.
FX ( http://www.fxnetworks.com/ ) starts next week and
A&E (action and adventure) starts in two weeks.

I would assume these will be in the basic package. SD and HD.

Xbox 360 has completely different Foxtel packages than "normal" Foxtel.

haven't tried fox on xbox yet. liking the new access to iview and you tube though. although i wish they'd introduce a qwerty kb for searching.

would be interested in anyone's experience with fox on xbox on a pay as you go system. are they doing NRL?

Fox on 360 does not have the individual Fox Sports, they have some sort of "best of" mash-up channel that from what I could tell, did not show any of the Australian codes live; at which point I completely lost interest.

im interested in it for the upcoming footy season, however i'm not sure how it works speed wise (xbox is hooked up wirelessly) and quota wise, because I'm not with telstra for internets.

i would get the 'Footy Play' thing for the Aussie Rules stuff.

I would've gotten XBL Gold and the Foxtel package if they showed live NRL on it. However the retarded (at least it's retarded to me) internet exclusivity deal with Telstra prevents that from ever happening. I really, really don't want to have to go get Telstra pre-paid MBB *just* to keep up with NRL down here in Tassie.

Isn't A&E Arts and Entertainment, not Action and Adventure :p

No its Action Entertainment lol

its also not in the basic package nor entertainment.
considering its almost entirely recycled content repeated throughout the day thats pretty lame.

FX starts soon.
