Indie developer Supergiant Games have excitedly shared (via Shacknews) that their debut title Bastion has capitalised on its critical acclaim, having sold over 500,000 copies -- pushing past the milestone thanks to the recent holiday sales on Steam and XBLA.
We’re happy to have this many people playing and to be in a position to make more games on our own terms. When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark. It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we’re doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that.
It's always great to see success from new studios and we were especially impressed with the deserved attention that publisher Warner Bros gave these guys at E3, so congratulations all around.

If you're not one of those half a million people, you can find out our thoughts on the game in this colorful review (AusGamers 8.5/10) and get some quality insight into the development process with our Interview with the Creative Director (and ex-Gamespot editor in chief) Greg Kasavin.

Was filthy for not picking this up during the Steam sale. Then again, probably for the best as my pile of unplayed games is getting bigger & bigger by the minute :(

I must admit I own it, but I haven't finished it yet. Still a great game, and so good to see an Indie developer rack up so many sales :)

I think this is really cool. You can get this game in Chrome! Games in my browser, now that is awesome. Free trail/demo too. Double cool.

also easy to see the experience in the use of 45deg isometric tiling if you are interested in the design elements of the game with..

Several of its team were former developers from Electronic Arts Los Angeles studio which developed the Command & Conquer series of video games.

if anything I wish there was a toggle to turn off the deep voice play-by-play that seems like it's some kind of important part of the games narrative, since I haven't played more than a few of the skyway linkages to know if it's part of a greater unfolding plan yet. like the kid is the old man retelling his story post calamity or something o_O

I bought it when it first came out and it didn't werk on my machine unless I told it to run in window mode. So I just un-installed it.
