As discussed recently, the R11 patch release for Battlefield Bad Company 2 is here. Here are the main changes:
. Removed some memory leaks
. Fixed crashes when the game attempted to render lots of content (high detail, high FOV or multiple-monitor modes); this should particularly help multi-monitor users
. Chat window no longer causes lag spikes
. Chat window reworked opacity & visibility-time is controllable through settings in settings.ini
. Clantag is remembered when using auto-login
. Banner URLs can be up to 252 characters in length
. SecuROM wrapper removed from non-Steam version
. Minor performance enhancements
. Reduced rubberbanding on >24p servers
. PrintScreen takes a screenshot, file stored in Documents\BFBC2\Screenshots directory
If you're having problems with the in-game updater (as many apparently are), you can download the manual patch now
locally from AusGamers (2.6GB!).

P.S. The patch is for any version of BFBC2 hence why it is so big for such few changes. They say they are going to release a smaller incremental patch at some point in the future.

Perhaps they're just doing this as a show-off that even after all this time they're still providing support to BC2, to potentially sway people to BF3?

Origin is fairly spartan compared to Steam- gets the job done I guess. Nothing too special about it, but I can't find anything particularly horrible about it. (Looks nicer than the older EADM and EA Link at least)
The good thing is that you can register most of your EA games and DLC through Origin (games released 2009 onwards, and including ones bought from Steam), but it does have the tendency to show you multiple activatable products, of which you can only pick one (e.g. Register BFBC2 code, Origin gives you two options: Digital Deluxe or Standard; Register MoH 2010, gives you several language options to activate [for the Steam version, you should pick the one with most languages, that includes English GB]).
Registering EA games on Origin is mostly painless and straightfoward. BFBC2 required a redirect to the EA Activation website, but worked fine. Pricing, of course, is the main sticking point of Origin IMO.
Seems that the Steam version has also decided to download 2+GB, damn. At least the manual patcher (mostly) works fine with it.
EDIT: For those wondering, the build number of the game should be 795745 if patched correctly.

I assume the reason there's no incremental is this is probably meant to be the last patch ever for the game. So just have one big patch with everything. So from now on, anyone new to the game or doing a clean install just has to worry about one update.
I play the game a lot so yeah, must have. Playing this MP and MOH MP in lead up to BF3. Altough that'll soon be Beta.

I still get kicked out of games after only a few minutes still...
F*****g retarded, imo.
