Confirmation on the date for the Battlefield 3 beta has arrived:
The Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will open to all gamers on September 29, 2011. Players from around the world will have a chance to experience the game that industry critics have hailed as the ‘Best Online Multiplayer Game’ before it ships on October 28th, 2011. The beta is set in Paris on the Operation Metro map, where players work their way from lush parks on the outskirts of the city to a dark, bombed-out metro station, to the vibrant streets around the Paris stock exchange.

Gamers who pre-order the digital PC version of the game at Origin (powered by EA) will be granted early access to the beta starting on September 27, 2011. In addition, all customers that pre-ordered a Limited Edition of Medal of Honor™ will also receive early access to the beta starting on September 27th, 2011.
Good to finally get a date.promoted/edited forum item

No. This is the bit where they once again go through the cycle of re-inventing the wheel when it comes to multiplayer gaming and we get to find that all the standard functionality that games have had since like 1997 will not be available at launch in a game that they've spent tens of millions of dollars in developing. No or terrible in-game browser, no ability to connect directly to servers, no ability to manage servers by kicking/banning players, no reliable ping mechanism to determine what server to connect to, no in-game voting, etc etc.

Then, after they've gathered all the feedback from the beta from the things they have left out that gamers rage at, they'll work hard on adding them and they'll be made available about 6 months after launch.

BITTER MUCH

The MOH thing is annoying, but I liked the MP for the game so it's ok. That MP was just way too small. Needed more maps and weapons. They should have let you add it to BC2, and then sold it as an add on like Vietnam for BC2 players.

With the BF3 specs, I read elsewhere the recommended is only for Medium settings?

I was chuffed I could play it really high with

Win 7 64
Intel i7 870
6gig ram
1gb GTX 460 SLI

So now... yeah don't know.

If I can't run it 1920x1200, everything full except for AA & AF, i'll be annoyed.

Although weren't all the live demo's running off something similar to recommended? Or an single gtx 580?
In that case, those were all Full, and looking at benchmarks my cards should run similar. We'll have to see.
