A new trailer for Saints Row: The Third introduces a new type of criminal gang - the Deckers:
The Deckers… elite cybercriminals… hackers… unrelenting online gamers. Their next target: the Third Street Saints. Upon arriving in Steelport, the Saints find their bank accounts wiped out by a Deckers cyber-attack. For the Saints, there’s only one thing left to do: hack into the Deckers user-net, engage in their own brand of cyberbullying, and shut down the Deckers’ network… permanently. But in this world, Deckers mastermind Matt Miller is a virtual god, capable of altering physics, setting firewalls, and unleashing his own deadly, maxed-out avatar. Are you ready to f*** s*** up in virtual reality?

Yeah that looks a bit stupid for a game like Saints Row. I'm sure it'll only be a small fraction of the whole game though. It's certainly not enough to put me off grabbing this when it comes out. Absolutely loved SR2

Too stupid? Have you actually played a Saint's Row game before? When were they anything BUT stupid? Its not like they're trying to recreate an accurate portrayal of the life of a gang-banger here, the games are always ridiculous, over the top and full of outright stupidity, to the point where its almost parodying itself. If you're taking it seriously, you're doing it very very wrong.

Edit: Should point out, I don't mean that in a negative way, being stupid and ridiculous is what let the game make a name for itself in the first place, and is what makes it different from similar games that take themselves too seriously. Main reason I didn't like the second one was the driving model annoyed me and the job missions annoyed me. I really like how crazy the games are though and thats why I think this VR thing looks cool, cos its just so out of place and so weird that I think it'll make for some comedy gold (as well as be a lot of fun, looks like a lot of tongue in cheek Tron type references, even a bit of a lawnmower man vibe).

Yeah a lot of people bought the first SR game thinking it would be a decent GTA clone and they were sadly disappointed. The series isn't half bad if you just enjoy it for what it is.
