So after
first announcing that Deus Ex: Human Revolution would be region locked on the PC,
Square Enix have quickly backed down and decided that it wouldn't be a such a good idea after all.
We’re aware of some discussion regarding the planned region-locking of boxed PC versions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and after careful review we have decided not to implement this in the UK/Europe/US/AUS. Please note, this plan only related to PC boxed games, and not digital or console editions.
After this broke news earlier this week, ozgameshop.com announced they'd offer up a refund for anyone who'd bought Deus Ex from them. With the lock not going ahead, they still plan to honour this offer and will be giving people refunds if they want them:
We have just been informed that Deus Ex Human Revolution will NOT be region-locked and WILL indeed work in Australia. This announcement was made on Eidos’ offical forums: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=119397.
After the mixed messages we’ve had this week, we understand that some of you may have ordered the game at local retailers and so it is still our intention to refund all orders made at ozgameshop.com.

Online retailers have surely gotta be a little pissed about this Yes region locked/No not region locked faffing about.

Not sure why people would skip content, if it's plot & gameplay. Mine took 46 hours, and against expectations I enjoyed every (repetitive settings) second of it.

I dunno, everything I guess. Wasn't really screwing around. Maybe the stats were biased by me leaving the game open for a day or something.

Most consoles require at least some knowledge of the hardware and some kind of mod.
Only if they intend to mod it themself.. otherwise they could just go to a shop, get a modchip, installed hey presto just torrent the game and play.

PM me for the code. Money/sexual favours/pics of your mum accepted.
Bought a copy off ozgameshop, told it was region locked, bought a copy off gmg, oxgameshop told me the game wasn't region locked, confirmed I wanted it (I prefer boxed copies) tried to get a refund from GMG, they sent me the code so now I will have two copies.
Update: Code gone. Mantorok wins. Sorry to those that didn't win etc etc.

Currently really want to play, and haven't found the time for - GTAIV+Expansions, From Dust, Assassin's Creed 3, King Arthur, Civ V, Dragon Age 1(again)+2(again)+DLCs, BioShock2, Duke Nukem Forever, Abe's Exodus, Team Fortress 2, Trine, Tropico 3, Seven Kingdoms II, L4D2, Battlefield P4F, Shogun 2, Empire:TW, Settlers 7... But that's a First World Problems whinge, not actually a terrible thing. :P

Complicated, and Russian mobsters probably infected my computer with Super AIDS, but at least I stuck it to the local distributor :)
I just looked these guys up; that was the first I'd heard of them. How does their business model work? You can trade your games back in for store credit, but how much of your original credit do you get back? On the face of it it sounds like a really cool idea.
