"The big announcement today is that we're supporting dedicated servers for PC, which is really cool," Noah Heller, who works at Beachhead Studios on Call of Duty stats service Elite, told Eurogamer at gamescom 2011.It's not clear at this point if it will be a limited, exclusive service like Black Ops had or if it will be a more open system like back in the days of yore - but it's a step in the right direction.

I just want to say, the game is looking great and cannot wait to play it. I've always loved the SP campaigns from the COD series, and I expect MW3 to continue that trend.

They are two different styles of games. BF lacks the fast pace FPS action, while COD lacks large maps/teams, and vehicles.
There is room for both. Fkn get use to it!

If you want to talk about innovation, one could say BF3 just looks like a much prettier BF2 with BC2 elements thrown in (from what ive seen from alpha youtube vids anyway....I haven't actually played it)
I thought Black Ops was much prettier than MW2. They might have been on the same engine but they made alot of improvements to it. I expect the same thing with MW3.

correct me if im wrong but wasnt BO made by Treyarch using a different engine to the Modern Warfare branch?
tbh dedicated servers isnt enough for me to think about buying this game. I expect dedicated servers with a multiplayer PC FPS game, and dont fall over with shock when i get told a game has them.

Pretty sure they share the tech for all cod games, both studios would advance it bit by bit as they saw fit.
Well you can expect it as much as you like, I expect it too, but the fact is that that's no longer the standard.

COD players do it EVERY SINGLE TIME another fps comes out, so its nice to see the shoe on the other foot for a change.
This doesn't really affect me though cos I was intending on getting MW3 anyway, but I guess its nice to see them realising what a stupid mistake they made by taking dedicated servers away. I'm sure it isn't this easy though, I'm sure they have some bulls*** left to spring that totally negates this decision and makes us all hate them again, like it'll be part of the premium paid service that Elite offers or something.
