Square Enix have sent word that the hotly anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold, which for those not familiar with the term (it's being used less and less these days with the rise of digital distribution) means the game has completed development and is ready to be manufactured on retail discs.
The return to one of the most critically acclaimed video game franchises of all time, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION is an action RPG that offers open-ended, hybrid gameplay.

Telling the story of Adam Jensen, a man cybernetically augmented against his choice who finds himself in the middle of a global conspiracy to which he holds the key, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION is set in a near-future world where humanity is at a turning point.
Deus: Ex Human Revolution is due on Australian shelves on August 25th 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Any idea if it will tie into steam?

It uses Steamworks, so yes.

I would possibly like to hit up your services Fixah, if that's ok with you. :D

Should I pm? Or maybe it'd be worth mentioning for everybody here to know what the dealio is?

edit: Actuaaallly, it's ~$57.035 AU atm (not sure where the dollar is at right now, fairly sure it was meant to lose yesterday's gains but I don't watch things any more) - and, given that I'm not in Brisbane, it's at least a $20 train train there and back to pick it up or whatever... so I may just steam it.

I've heard that the leak was awesome though, enjoyed both the previous games, and am super keen for Thief 4, so will use this to tide me over. :D

They send you the CD key when it comes out, which you then plug into steam and download the game through steam.

If you follow these steps you should get your game upon release.
1. Open an account with Steam (click the download url below).
2. Download and install the Steam client.
3. Run the Steam client software and log in with your Steam account details.
4. In the bottom left hand corner of the client is a "+ Add a game..." button. Click it.
5. Select "Activate a product on Steam".
6. Paste in the product activation key (when it is emailed to you upon release of the game)
7. After a couple of minutes Steam will authenticate the code.
8. Click on "Library". You should see you game in the Library.
9. Click on your game to start downloading it.

Thats from the email they sent me after I bought it. Came out to $33 with our exchange rate, I couldn't say no to that.

Did that for me, then continued to the final page after a bit. :/

Cost with discount ended up being $35 US or so. Here's hoping it's legit. >_>

Hmm bought off of greenmangaming. They sent me that email, down the bottom is a key for the GOTY edition of Deus Ex too. You need some capsule client to download the game?

Edit:

This game is not available for download yet. It will be on 23-Aug-2011.

To play games you need Capsule.
Please click here to download it. (removed link).

If you already have capsule, please go ahead and click download above.
Khel

You probably just need their capsule thing to play your free copy of Deus Ex 1, cos Human Revolution is done through Steam.

Unless thats what you meant, and I'm just being captain redundant.

Probably buy a few thousand keys in some eastern block country that sells them cheap. Then they sell them to you for a little bit of profit.

Woo, so long as it works, and doesn't have region issues on steam. There's no multiplayer anyway I presume.

Though it seems odd if they're selling the keys but may not yet own them. >_>

Sa-weet. First reviews are in and are super positive. I haven't really followed the development of this game beyond appreciating the kickass trailer and loving the previous ones, so am pretty happy to have got it for ~$30 AU and just dive in. :D

Editor's choice award over here. (didn't read the review, am aiming to just enjoy it for what it is when I get it)

Cheers for the link Mantorok!

I was looking around for somewhere to pick it up for less than $50 and DAMN I'll take $34 no worries :)

I played through the first level on the leaked version (The first REAL level, not that prologue stuff) and it's looking like it's gonna luck my life dry XD

I do wish they expanded on the hacking side of things a little bit more. For a 'piller of gameplay' it is rather limited in gameplay. I would have liked it more if they included what they have and added other 'mini games' such as the re-wiring panels in System Shock and so on. Just to mix it up a bit at least.
Khel
Posted 01:14pm 30/7/11
How does hacking work? Is it just a matter of going up to something and using it and it gets hacked if you have a high enough skill?

Sorry Fixah, don't hate me.
No i completely understand (a******).

Seriously though it's $43? I thought it was mean't to be crazy cheap? or does it get cheaper after your apply the coupon code?

Fairly sure that was in USD as well, so with terrible things happening which have made our currency so valuable, it's even cheaper. :D
