Flying Wild Hogs -- a new Poland-based independent studio comprised of developers from People Can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm), CD Project RED (The Witcher) and City Interactive (Sniper: Ghost Warrior) -- have announced their debut title, a "dark sci-fi" themed first person shooter titled Hard Reset.
The PC-exclusive title transports players to a haunting, dystopian future, with humanity on the verge of extinction, confined to its last standing city and under constant threat from the robotic hordes that aim to annihilate mankind.
Not only is the game currently PC exclusive and reportedly built on their own in-house engine technology, but it's also due to ship very shortly, in "September 2011".
A teaser trailer (embedded below or
here for HD) and three screenshots accompany the announcement and you can find some more details in the official
press release as well as this exclusive Q&A over at
PC Gamer.

After re-reading, I'm actually pretty psyched. Here's hoping it scales a little better than the witcher 2 though.
Hell, even if I don't play it, I'll probably still buy it just to support their PC's first game mentality :)

Too little to really get excited about the game. I loved the Witcher 2, but that's not really helpful here.

They also sent along an official fact sheet, here's the feature list:
So for anyone expecting a Deus Ex style game just because of the distopian theme, I wouldn't count on it. Sounds much more like it's going to be more Painkiller/Serious Sam style -- fast-paced game that throws hordes of enemies at you. Hopefully it has large-scale co-op!
