Steve's already posted about Nintendo's new console announcement - the Wii U - but now the dust has settled we've got a bit more information, including some more details about the launch titles.

First of all, you probably want to check out what this thing looks like - we've got all the official images that have been released available now which shows both parts of the console - the base station and the funky tablet-esque handheld component - in all their glory.

In terms of actual software, we'll no doubt hear more as everyone releases their until-now-NDA'd information, but we've gotten press releases so far about Wii U versions of a Ninja Gaiden 3 title, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Darksiders 2. As noted in Steve's live blog, we'll also see a few other titles like Batman: Arkham City, Smash Bros, and more - no assets just yet, but stay tuned for more info as it becomes available. There's also some vaguely uninspired screenshots from some Mario game that they included in their press kit.

Finally, the official press release contains a bunch of other details about the console.
