Sydney-siders, or any interstaters willing to travel at late notice, are reminded that Round One of the World Cyber Games kicks off tomorrow at Parramatta Riverside from 4:30pm.
AusGamers has been told that unfortunately due to technical difficulties with the official site's Korean origins, a locally functioning site for registration has not been able to get up and running, so registration for the event is on-site (from 4:30pm), but post Round One, you will be able to register online moving forward once a local destination has been built.
The event is going to be an extravaganza of celebrations, with Samsung teaming up with Parramatta City Council to make it count.
Gamers of all kinds can compete across numerous formats on titles such as Tekken 6, Fifa 11, StarCraft II, WarCraft III and Counter Strike 1.6 with some of today's best gaming equipment courtesy of Alienware, Razer and Turtle Beach. Both globally and locally in Australia, Samsung has been the major sponsor of WCG for the last decade and it continues this association into 2011.
According to the event's organisers, TLS, there's also a goal to host the world final, right here in Australia, however, prior to that there will also be a round held in Brisbane, Melbourne and a final on the Gold Coast. Entry for everyone is free, and if you plan on heading down, make sure you drop us a line in the Comments section.

I've lived near the area my whole life and it's seemed to decline for some reason.
