The hotly anticipated sequel to one of the most critically well received games of 2009, Batman: Arkham Asylum, has finally been given a solid release date.

Players will step into the boots of the Dark Knight on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this October 19 when Batman: Arkham City releases worldwide, a full two months after the expected August release period for the game. And given the very little anyone has seen of the game is still purportedly amazing, the extra development time can only ensure the final product here is as top-notch as the team's first effort.

Stay tuned to AusGamers for any other details that emerge for Batman: Arkham City.
