Friend of AusGamers and internal studio PR head at Volition, Eric Barker, had a chat to Eurogamer
recently, telling them the next installment in the Saints Row series would offer up "fantastic surprises" and would release "around Christmas" this year.
"I can't talk too much about Saints just yet," he told the site. "You've got some fantastic surprises ahead. The game looks fantastic. It's wonderful. Everybody's really excited about it."
It's not unlike Eric to throw his excitement around like this, but he did baulk at questions regarding the game's engine potentially being GeoMod 2.0, the same running Red Faction: Armageddon (which makes sense from an asset pipeline perspective in internal development), but also mentioned that team members from that game would roll onto Saints once it had shipped in May.
"We're excited to have so much fantastic content," he continued. "Red Faction being over a decade, four games; Saints Row, it'll be the third iteration, which people are just really excited about; and to be working with a visionary film director like Guillermo del Toro, who is a mad gamer himself, it's just fantastic."
