CVG has some new info regarding the Silicon Knights-developed upcoming X-Men: Destiny title for publisher Activision, as printed by their hardcopy brother, OXM UK.

Apparently the game is going to focus on the "tough decisions that an average X-Man has to make", and will come with a much darker tone than any X-Men games of the past. This bodes well in the hands of Silicon Knights, who developed the brilliant, but little-known Eternal Darkness for GameCube. Moreover, the game's setting is at a time when anti-mutant ideologies are at a fever-pitch, forcing the aforementioned decisions to hold a greater impact on how you drive the story and your character.

The OXM article also mentions we'll see familiar X-Men in the game including Gambit, Magneto and Quicksilver, among many more and that players will be able to alter their abilities through the "X-Gene" component; using other X-Men powers along with their own.

Apparently you'll have three characters to choose from, each of whom are the offspring of a "human zealot"; again pushing the darker, deeper X-Men experience. Each of the three characters are also now a part of the official X-Men cannon.

Usually post magazine features like this, online gets a bigger slice of the information pie, so stay tuned for more as we get it. Sounds pretty awesome so far though.

Looking forward to more info on this. Sounds interesting but teaser trailers don't really go along way to draw me in.
