Topping off all of our BlizzCon Diablo coverage here on AusGamers this morning, is a full hands-on preview of the game, with all the mouse-clicks I could handle during the event.
Actually, the experience was completely satisfying, as I outline in today's feature article, where I explore the dungeon lay-outs, loot, levelling up, monsters, visuals, art-direction, gore, story and lore.
Unfortunately spaces behind demo PCs were limited, even for press, but I made sure I played right through the demo to get as much out of it as possible, and did so with the new character class.

One thing about it though, the screenshots just really don't seem to do it justice. Looks so much better in motion in the HD trailers.
Also, given the simplicity of controls, it really seems like a no-brainer for a multi-platform release. I know Blizzard have been long-time PC hold-outs and that makes sense with stuff like WoW and StarCraft, but this one has to end up ported to consoles eventually right? Surely it's too massive a market to ignore now?

Otherwise, looks good but man, this game is so far off. Half the questions that were asked in the open Q&A session were answered with "We'll get to that when we.. er.. get to that", wouldn't be holding my breath just yet...

Really looking forward to a few late night dungeon runs with a few mates on this one.
Also on the idea of going multi-platform again, i really don't think blizzard intend to try that again. I only half worked on the first Diablo, they didn't bother with the second one either. I think the difference between the console and PC versions control scheme would just make the console version feel clunky.

I think though it was because you only needed to deal with small groups of enemies of 2-4 hence saps, traps and sleep/sheeps could be possible without trouble allowing you to concentrate on spell rotations and stuff. So i guess it's not really applicable.
I just hope that its fluid.
