Activision have revealed that legendary Canadian prog-rockers Rush, will integrate their revered "2112" album with the Quest Mode offered in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
"The music, the story and the journey of 2112 lends itself perfectly to the quest in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock," said Geddy Lee of Rush. "In our story, the caves of 2112 are where our hero finds the lost guitar and this rediscovery of music is much like the Guitar Hero warriors' journey to find the Demi-God of Rock's Legendary guitar, which has been trapped in a cavern."
You'll play through a venue inspired by 2112 which will feature these tracks from the album:
  • "2112 Pt. 1 - Overture"
  • "2112 Pt. 2 - The Temples Of Syrinx"
  • "2112 Pt. 3 - Discovery"
  • "2112 Pt. 4 - Presentation"
  • "2112 Pt. 5 - Oracle: The Dream"
  • "2112 Pt. 6 - Soliloquy"
  • "2112 Pt. 7 - Grand Finale"
Say what you want about this videogame genre, pulling Rush in like this is a pretty sweet deal. Now if only they could secure Pink Floyd... Check out the trailer right here.

That's awesome. It'd be cool if they put in all the epic ones such as Cygnus X-1: Book 1 & 2, La Villa Strangiato and others.

By the way, anyone heard the new single "Caravan"? Fkn awesome.

best news in gaming ever, bar nothing.

i typed a massive text well about my manic rush high over the last few weeks(looking to finally get rush tat, sussing drums to buy so i could try to learn to play like peart, bought new rush app for iphone, new rush doco, watching concert videos and listening to stacks of their albums again and probably pissing off boba and the lads from that corner from caining them too loud through my headphones, telling malth i was buying him moving pictures for rockband) but ill leave it at that

favourite band and favourite song for around 20 years

and lol at there being wrong lyrics in the trailer

Yeah, big fan of Rush
Cygnus: Bringer Of Balance will be my funeral dirge I reckon (if I somehow could choose).

I have memory and awareness
But I have no shape or form
As a disembodied spirit
I am dead and yet unborn
I have passed into Olympus
As was told in tales of old
To the city of Immortals
Marble white and purest gold...

I see the gods in battle rage on high...
Thunderbolts across the sky...
I cannot move, I cannot hide...
I feel a silent scream begin inside...

Queue gas burner - launch
time for Hermiefried!
:)

Then all at once the chaos ceased
A stillness fell, a sudden peace
The warriors felt my silent cry
And stayed their struggle, mystified
