Fresh from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, THQ have let loose more info and media for their up and coming Martian shooter, Red Faction: Armageddon.

The new trailer shows off more bug-hunting alien goodness, with a better perspective on the game's clear redirection towards a more shooter-focused experience, as well as giving us a sneak peak at the sort of dark and hostile art-direction we're in for come March 2011.

We checked out the game at this year's E3 and spoke to lead designer, David Abzug about it, so check out that interview, and stay tuned for an in-depth preview coming very shortly. In the meantime, have a look at the new trailer and screens below.

Why does this game use the 'Red Faction' name?

From what I can tell, the sequels are only very loosely linked to the original. The links get 'looser' the more the franchise progresses.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Red Faction: Guerilla was a game I had totally written off, and didn't even play till I got it cheap in a Steam sale, then I absolutely loved it. So even though this doesn't look *that* interesting to me right now, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt again, in the hope they'll suprise me.

Wow, I just watched the trailer, they're totally ripping off Dead Space aren't they. I swear at one part in that trailer there was even an artifact that looked uncannily like the marker from Dead Space.

Having enjoyed RF:G I am looking forward to this one.

Watched a trailer where one of the guys working on it showed off some of the weapons and I have to say they looked fun.
