T'were Dragon Age 2 after all, and thankfully after staying up late to check out The Road on Blu-Ray (awesome, by the way), I was able to jump in early and give you all a heads up.
You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever. The legend of your Rise to Power begins now.
We have a bit more information on our game page, but the stand-out bullet point most people have been wanting to hear are "dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a mage, rogue, or warrior." and "updated graphics and a new visual style." Check out some fresh new artwork below and stay tuned for the debut trailer, poised to drop on August 17. The game is currently scheduled for March 2011 release.

I was really looking forward to the road, but got up to the part involving a basement, got uncharacteristically freaked out, and couldn't go on.

Looks good to me. I'm playing DA:O again at the moment, so really looking forward to DA2, I'm really interested in the new combat system, because I found it to be rather boring in DA:O.

Aww yeah. Since there's no screenshots in the announcement, I'm guessing this is real early days though. Can't wait for a look at this supposed new visual style, hopefully the trailer isn't just CG.

Apparently there will be in a magazine next month.

Seems they're going mass effect style where you play a fully voiced human male/female called Hawke, similar to Shepard.

i just would have preffered to continue the story of my character from da1 like you do with mass effect.

If it's fully voiced then I can forgive them for not migrating your character. Still I wonder if the decisions your character made will be imported like whether Alister is king or not, etc.

yeah I'd prefer to see the original story carried on in some form
hopefully the new art direction means a difference in the look of armor and weapons f***** ><

he didn't like it because it was too bleak - basically Kosta needs Tim and or Eric to appear in something to enjoy it :P

the road was the cinematic equivelant of repeatedly getting kicked in the balls. hard to recommend and even harder to admit you love it... but then again steve has no balls. he has to put two ping pong balls in his underwar every morning.
