Quake Live Qualifiers for Australia and NZ

4Seasons Gaming have let us know they're organising qualifiers for Quake Live to send the most bad-ass Oceanic gamer to QuakeCon 2010 to compete in the big tournaments they have there.
Instead of just choosing a player to send over, we have turned the opportunity into a "draft" or "qualifier" to determine once and for all who is the real 2010 Oceanic QuakeLive Dueling Champion.

The tournament will be open to everybody living in Australia or New Zealand but there will be only twelve final positions in the competition. Some of the 12 will be hand picked "wildcard" entries by 4Seasons Gaming staff, while the remaining positions will be decided through competitions in the coming weeks.

(Side note: it's cool to see comments asking about whether Python will be competing - way back in 2000, AusGamers sponsored Python to go to Dallas and compete at CPL in the Quake 3 tournaments!)

after initially bad-mouthing quakelive as just sticking an old game in a web browser :P i have started to jump on occasionally for some ffas... n damn! i'd forgotten how cool it is to be able to go '10mins to spare... may as well deathmatch it!' n then jump on for some ffa madness. there always seems to be a few decent ffa servers in au with players.

i don't think i'll bother with the comp though... i suck @ quakelive :P

same here demon, i jump into quake live when ever i have a few minutes to kill. The quality of the players seems to be decent and there are always ffa servers filled with aussies available.

My 7 year old is also right into it, on weekends we general fight over who gets to play.
