If you're Canadian - look out.
Modifying a video game console such as a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 is a crime in Canada and could result in a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, according to a recent release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

It's still better than getting shot to shreds by a 9mm rail gun from an apache chopper for carrying a camera.

Yeah I've noticed a few things in law where doing something like cheating the economy has a harsher penalty than some of the more obvious moral wrongs.

I would say traditionally white colour crime has been treated with far less severity than other crimes. I think you're speaking out your ass to be honest.

You mean white people get away with crime more than black people do or is it cause white people per ratio commit less crime?

They seem to have some pretty strict laws over there on some weird things though. I mean, this is secondhand info, so take it as you will, but I have a friend over in Vancouver at the moment studying and he swears like a sailor, and within only a few days of being there he was warned about his language, because apparently you can be fined $5000 for being rude in public or cursing, etc. He said its driving him mad over there because they're the most polite people ever.

I'm sure there have been cases where hackers got put away for 20 years for ripping off business/government. It's not common but it happens.

edit: They might have been black though.

I'm sure I've heard about hackers who didn't go to jail and then struck again and also murderers who went away for life, nice anecdote buddy.

But the Apache has a 30mm chain gun that fires DU ammunition....9mm wouldn't be so devastating..

In all honesty, I've never had a problem with people politely requesting the language stays withing established boundries.

You're the only one on this forum who still calls me by my old nickname.

It makes me feel special and asserts the fact that i want to make love to you, sideways.

There's also that case of that Linux nerd that wrote that file system (raiser? Or something) and got life imprisonment. See even white Linux nerds get treated harshly by the legal sytem (for wife murder)
