Steam announced yesterday that
Plain Sight, an indie multiplayer action game for PC, landed yesterday:
Plain Sight is a multiplayer arcade game about suicidal ninja robots. Fly through space, leap over planetoids and destroy opponents with your trusty katana.
Killing fellow robots lets you steal their tasty, tasty energy. Packed with spinach-like goodness; energy makes you bigger, stronger, faster and generally more awesome.
You can
buy it from Steam for US$9.99. Of particular note is this game, even though it's a relatively small title from an independent developer, comes with a dedicated server, which means you can definitely play it online locally. I know GameArena has servers up now and other services might have some available as well. Unfortunately there's no demo but hopefully a free weekend isn't too far away.
You can take a peek at the gameplay in
this trailer and we have more information and screenshots on our
game page.

Why is it that this unknown developer can release a dedicated server package the day of release but huge companies with multi million dollar budgets can't?
Also this game looks like a ton of fun so for like $12 why not pick it up IMO. I'm gonna later on tonight and give it a whirl.

Really fast paced, three dimensional combat. (it's like in space and you're a robot fighting on magnetic platforms, but not gay like shattered horizon)
Ninja! Ninja! Botzilla! mode was heaps of fun in particular. All smashing the one dude, unless you're it (and you're HUGE) and smashing everyone else.
Can't say I'd play it for more than half an hour tops at the most in a single sitting, but it still gets you a really good dose of fast paced action in just 5 minutes.
