It's Monday again and as per usual here's a few videos that came in while we were away from the screen:
  • The Secret World: Funcom have offered a new glimpse at their forthcoming contemporary themed MMO, releasing the trailer shown back at GDC 2010 for public consumption and the first time that they've shown actual in-game footage.

"The video gives a unique glimpse into the game, showcasing elements such as locations, characters, group combat and monsters." Watch it right here on AusGamers.

The Secret World has no confirmed release dates, however recent rumours have hinted at completion from around 18-24 months time which would position it for a late 2011/early 2012 launch. An earlier beta test period is also expected.

  • The Witcher 2: Following last week's reveal, CD Projekt have now released two more videos for their RPG sequel.

First up is this real-time cut-scene video that features actual footage from the game's engine - an expansion on the initial teaser. Then we also have a developer diary trailer titled The Beginning (Polish with English subtitles) which among some interesting commentary actually also has some brief in-game clips.

They've also since confirmed that the game is in the works for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No release date has yet been hinted at and international distribution details have yet to surface.

  • Hydrophobia: After a long media drought (the last we saw of the game was this E3 2008 trailer), Dark Engery Digital have announced that their water-centric third-person survival game will be launching Xbox Live Arcade exclusive to the Xbox 360 later in 2010.
HydrophobiaTM has been developed using Dark Energy Digitals own InfiniteWorldsTM game creation system, which uses bespoke procedural technology. This allows for a AAA retail quality experience for a tiny fraction of the usual file size, pushing back the boundaries for downloadable games.

The game will also be the first outing for Dark Energy Digitals revolutionary HydroEngineTM technology the first true fluid dynamics engine for games. HydroEngineTM models flowing water in real-time, a true physics simulation with emergent behavior which affects objects and characters in the scene with jaw-dropping authenticity.

Watch the new trailer here on AusGamers

No confirmation on a release date yet, but the game is expected on XBLA before the year's end.

Can't wait to see more details on Secret World. Be nice to get into beta before the release, in case its as f***ed as AoC was. Part of the problem is trusting Funcom now.

With a late 2011 release, sounds like its going to be going head to head with Bioware's Old Republic MMO. Thats gotta make Funcom a little bit nervous.

Yea, definitely would for anyone. Bioware has a neat little package with star wars, but the question is, will it work?
