As promised, here is AusGamers' Q&A with Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowling.

Unfortunately due to questions having to only be relating to the new Stimulus Pacakage downloadable content map pack we were unable to push for any more broader (read: dedicated server) type questions, but we did nonetheless manage to get a few tasty bits outside of the scope.
Well for your audience [Australians], your audience will probably see the biggest change. There is stuff that will affect everybody, like we're tweaking the one-man-army perk and how that works a little bit - balancing that a little more. But we're also adding in some match-making functionality for the 360 version that will help our international players quite a bit in finding more locally hosted games for them and I know that's a big request from our Australian players. That will actually be going in on the patch just prior to the DLC.
No doubt those still plugging away on the Xbox 360 version will be pleased to hear that.

Hit up the full interview for plenty of info about the Modern Warefare 2 Stimulus Package DLC (including the first official screenshots), and if you want to get a look at the maps in action, check out yesterday's trailers.

I am actually tempted to commit a crime and buy this...only reason would be to play with a few of my PC friends who have it. Still dunno if I should.

...are very happy just to have new content and will eat it up and I think the majority of players will be like that.

God I hate this man.

edit

Spelling mistake: gardcore HQ pro. Is it garden variety HQ? :P

Jeez, is that really how they think?

Btw thanks ausgamers for standing up for the PC need more sights like this.

I am really disappointed, having just maps as dlc is boring to me, they will be all flash and new for like a week and then the novelty will wear off and you wouldn't even notice if they weren't there.

They should be introducing new weapons, new perks, new game modes AND new maps.
These are the kinds of things that used to be released in patches back in the good ol days, it may of only been like 1 new weapon or something but see if they would just wait and release all the maps they are planning to release with the new weapons, perks and so forth, they could just tack on a short crappy single player, much like the one in cod 6 and just call it an expansion pack.

That would make me happy, the return of expansion packs.

The fans are just as bad though. It's blatantly obvious it's a s***** DLC pack. 3 new maps, 2 ports. If they buy it, it just shows developers like IW that they can package up a piece of s*** addition to the game and sell it because they know ppl will buy it. $20 for 3 new maps is insane. Anyone who buys it is a moron.

This DLC is indeed a stimulus package... for IW. They didn't make enough money from the release, so they try to get more.

Im not sure what the agreement you have is or if you didnt want to push the guy any harder for whatever reasons, but you seem to let him get away without realy answering the no-user created maps question.

You should have said how it is, its a blatent money grab for things that we have been able to get/create for free in the past.

True that Viper but I bet the would not get any interviews in the future cuz they would be too hard for them.

Geez, pretty limited scope when they're asking you just to interview them about a map pack. How many interesting questions can you really ask about a map pack?

On a related note, we need to start stop calling 'day 1 DLC' DLC. Since it is already part of the game and needs a code to unlock it (in BC2's case). It's more resale lockout content. RLC.

A good question would of been if the recent departure of the studio heads has effected this or any other future dlc for the game.

They didn't depart, the were removed.

Whatever, you knew what I meant. You say that as if I said the recent gang rape and murder of the studio heads.

My opinion is: stop reporting on anything to do with Infinity Ward. They don't deserve the attention. They most certainly shouldn't be given the time of day when charging $15 for some extra maps that should have been included for release.

"Will this map pack ultimately lead you to giving us dedicated servers you pack of severe f**ots?"

What about all the negative attention they got before the release from sites like us warning everyone that it wouldn't have a dedicated server mode? 2 million people still thought it was worth buying!
