Madman Entertainment, Aussie distributor of all things Anime and Manga, have let us know that the Japanese animated Halo tale, Halo Legends will be available on Australian shelves in both DVD and Blu-Ray form on March 3rd 2010.
Falling within Halo's 26th Century mythology, as the battle between humanity and aliens rages on in an attempt to protect Earth and mankind's expansive number of space colonies, these stories feature characters and settings familiar to Halo fans across two hours of action-packed and dramatic animated adventures.

HALO LEGENDS has been created in the same breakthrough style as THE ANIMATRIX and BATMAN GOTHAM KNIGHT, with each individual episode handled by renowned anime directors and animators, including Shinji Aramaki (APPLESEED) and Mamoru Oshii (GHOST IN THE SHELL), and in conjunction with Microsoft Game Studios' 343 Industries and Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor.
Some of the bonus features of the Blu-Ray and Special Edition also sound pretty tasty. Check out the press release for full details.

I've watched all of this - very good. With it, and the Dante's Inferno anime, things are starting to look up for animation and videogames actually working well together...

I liked the first 2 parts. The rest were external stories retold with some aspect of the game included so they could be added to the DVD.

i liked appleseed... if it's the one i am thinking of. it's a bit erroneous to say "HALO LEGENDS has been created in the same breakthrough style as THE ANIMATRIX" though i reckon coz the animatrix was 8 totally different animation styles... they mean "final flight of the osirus" probably.

also...
