Monday rolls around yet again and the games biz is more or less back up to pace now, following the holiday break. That means new media every working day, including North America and Europe's Friday, which tends to be Australian's Saturday. Here's a few bits that came in while we were afk.
  • Quantum Theory: Many are referring to Tecmo's upcoming shooter as Japan's answer to Gears of War and if you check out the latest gameplay trailer, you'll see why. There's also a new batch of screenshots where you'll no doubt find more similarities to Epic's hit franchise.

Quantum Theory is due for a 2010 release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

  • Splinter Cell: ConvictionIt may have been delayed a couple of months, but Ubisoft are still releasing new media for this hotly anticipated stealth-action game. In the latest clip we are introduced to the character Victor Coste, a private security consultant and by the looks of things, one of the few allies that Sam Fisher has left.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is now due on Aussie shelves in April 2010 for PC and Xbox 360.

  • Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition: Capcom have given us the first taste of the upcoming content update for their well-received surival-action title. The retail release of Resi 5's gold edition bundles the original game with all the downloadable content - including two new episodes "Lost in Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape". Of course existing owners of Resi 5 will also be able to download them individually from the Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Network - Check out the in-game clips right here on AusGamers

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is due for retail release on March 12 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The individual episodes will be available as DLC a little earlier with "Lost in Nightmares" landing on February 17th for X360 and 18th for PS3 and "Desperate Escape" following on March 3rd for X360 and 4th for PS3.
