Robbie Bach has just confirmed at this year's CES trade show, Projeect Natal will be ready and on sale at retail this holiday season, which is the Christmas period (in North America).

We haven't seen anything new, and currently there have been no new morsels of info on pricing or games, but it's good to know this interesting piece of gaming will be landing this year.

In other Xbox 360 news, Bach also revealed an all-new Avatar interactive "Games Room" which is a portal back to classic arcade/atari/intellivision games of yesteryear. The games are all presented in their original format as retro as can be, and the Games Room will launch with 30 original titles from the likes of Atari, Activision and more. Over the next three years they plan on releasing some 1000 classic games to the new platform.

Beyond that, not much else was shown beyond this trailer for Halo Reach along with mentions of such titles as Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake and Fable 3. It was also revealed the first DLC for Modern Warfare 2 would be a timed exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Nice edit Steve.

I hate it when Americans refer to "THIS HOLIDAY 2010"

SO CONFUSING.

It is going to be a whole new round of ps3 vs xbox360.

The Wii remain competitive because all the noobs will continue to love it, like Apple fans.

Arent they always bringing out a new version of anything with updated specs.

I cant see the Wii going anywhere anytime soon.it was only release 2006, will be at least 2011, 2012 before its replaced.

You mean like the first modern warfare was? How 360 fans had to pay for it and us PC users got it a lot later but got it for free? Ahhh the life of a PC gamers sure is awesome :p

I think the PS3 motion sensing "wand" looks more impressive than natal personally. Natal just looks a little bit too gimmicky for me, I'm not sure I want to stand in front of my tv and wave at it like a d*** to play games, I like having a controller.

When I first saw Natal I thought it was a joke.

I still think it's a joke.

Can't wait to see it! :-))) Hahahaha

depends how much i have to wave at it... if i can use it like i use my wii.. (sit on couch controllers resting my legs small wiggles and minor movements..) then i wont have such a problem with it.. but if i have to spastically through my arms around and actually use energy todo what should be simple tasks.. then ill be annoyed.

This thing can recognise facial expressions & stuff too right? I remember a video with some woman demonstrating it with an e-child doing his e-homework or some s***.

I think this technology could be really useful for home automation stuff. Being able to anticipate what you'd want just from a look on your face or a gesture would be awesome like having an auto dispenser for beer, bourbon, coke etc. If you're watching TV and look bored it could change the channel or put on a movie it knows you like. It would be handy for disable people too for controlling some sort of mechanical arm to get them in & out of their wheelchair etc.

Anyone here ever watch Eureka? If you've seen it you'll know the kind of house I'm talking about.

Whoop, given they took away PC dedicated servers, I wouldn't consider their love for PC gaming as good as it once was - expect to end up having to pay for the DLC

got rid of my wii also and refuse to get a new one until there is HD. come on. everyone has an hdtv. computers have been doing HD for the last more than 10 years. i hate playing fuzzball jaggy games.

the wii is heaps more expensive than an xbox 360 arcade now. almost double. gimme a break. and its a pile of tosh hardware.

The Wii looks pretty decent if you use component cables, composite just looks crap on hdtv's. Of course 1080p functionality via hdmi would be great.

I don't get why people are so excited about the Wii having 1080p... "Yaaayyy, s*** graphics in full HD". I get that performing the upscaling in the console instead of in the TV is a bit better since it is working with a purer source... but is it really worth forking out for a new Wii for it?

They don't want up-scaling, they want it to render at 1080p (like increasing the resolution on a PC game). Regardless of how good a game's graphics are, it's always preferable to play it at the highest resolution possible.

Yeah it would still have s***** texture res and few other trimmings, but at least there would be HD geometry and probably some decent anti-aliasing. It's not going to get to X360/PS3 levels but any streth, but any cell-shaded or otherwise flat-colour stylised games should all look pretty sweet.

You can get an idea of what Wii games look like in higher res' from those emulator caps. ie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrFE1_9eaUg

IMO the only good look nintendo games reguardless of platform as the mario games designed for each console... eg, mario 64, mario sunshine, mario galaxy.

Though RE4 Looked the bomb on the gamecube.

I dunno, wii just doesnt have enough aa for my liking.
