Funcom have
announced a Christmas offer - anyone that downloads, registers and starts playing the trial before January 1, 2010, will get free, unlimited play for the first 20 levels of the game - for ever.
"Our original seven day trial has been very successful so far," says Morten Larssen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Funcom. "But with the holiday season coming up this is the perfect time to shake up our trial offer a bit and try out something new. So everyone who downloads the trial before January 1st will be able to play the first part of the game for free, forever. We are confident that many of those taking advantage of this offer will choose to become permanent players, allowing them to experience all of what the game has to offer including all the additions and improvements introduced since launch."
Head over to the
official site to register if you want to give it a crack.

I gave this a go a few months back, I found the high amount of instancing on just the standard quests pretty lame. I didnt really understand what the point of playing it was; it certainly was not a "massive multiplayer" experience.

Yes you can solo all the way to level 80 just doing the quests without grinding and the storyline is quite good. It still doesn't change the fact that the first 20 levels haven't really changed since release. DX10 version is stable and brilliant but the classes are still unbalanced for PvP.

there's no reason to expect that every class should have an equal chance at beating any other given class 1 on 1, in fact it'd be silly to I reckon
