It's been a long wait since the September console release, but the PC version of DiRT 2 is almost out of the gate - promising enhanced DirectX 11 features no-less. To help get PC gamers excited again, Codemasters have today released a playable demo for the game and you can now find it locally on AusGamers files (1.3GB).
The playable demo enables gamers to compete in two of Colin McRae: DiRT 2’s exhilarating events. In the ‘Trailblazer’ event, players take on the ultimate test of rally car against the challenging Moroccan terrain on a point-to-point track filled with flat-out straights and hair-raising hairpins in the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. In the second event, gamers compete in a ‘Landrush’ race at the spectacular Ensenada Port circuit set in Baja California, where players go wheel-to-wheel in an 8-vehicle riotous race over lethal bumps and killer jumps in the heavy duty West Coast Choppers Stuka TT.
DiRT 2 is due on Australian shelves December 10 2009. Check out AusGamers DiRT 2 game page for the latest batch of screenshots.

Typo on that one, sorry to freak you out :)

It's actually out in the US/EU in a couple of days, we've have to wait a week longer :/

cant f*****g wait for this. dirt is easily my fav racing game in recent years. It just strikes the right balance of fun vs anal retentive simulation - the only thing that worries me about dirt 2 is the emphasis on the xtreme(tm) american rally culture. (seems like much less emphasis on special stages and more about rallycross)

Not enough good ol fashioned rally racing in this game though, mostly made up of buggy racing around dirt tracks...boo

bleh f*** this.

The cars feel ultra light then all of a sudden turn to bricks in hairpins... feels completely different to dirt and not at all for the better.

wish I hadn't wasted the download
