Reports are in today of Krome Studios, the Australian game developer often boasted as Australia's largest undergoing some serious downsizing - leaving an estimated one quarter of their staff without jobs just in time for Christmas.

The Brisbane-based Krome Studios also has offices Melbourne and Adelaide with the lay-offs reportedly occurring across all three.

Local game development has taken quite a few hits in recent years with Pandemic Studios and Auran both shutting up shop (with several of those ending up at Krome) and more recently Transmission Games, Fuzzy-Eyes and Red Tribe.

Our condolences go out to all those affected, we hope that you are able to find other opportunities elsewhere in the industry.
