So the good news is that
copies of Borderlands PC procured by Aussies from Steam definitely won't be censored. The bad news is that if you pre-loaded it already, you'll have to delete your files and download it again - yep, all 7GB of it. Here's the official word:
"We'd like to confirm that the Australian version of Borderlands is not censored in any way. This applies to all platforms and distribution methods, including Steam. Because of an internal mix-up an incorrect version of the game was available to preload on Steam for a brief period of time. This version has since been replaced. We're asking everybody who has downloaded the Australian version of Borderlands previously to delete the local content and re-download the game to ensure that they have the proper files.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
Borderlands PC unlocks for Australian players on October 30th. For more details on Borderlands check out AusGamers

I wouldn't have cared if Internode didn't count the 7gb or so of Steam download, but for some stupid reason they did. Going to chase it up with them, given that Steam content within AU is meant to be unmetered content (although I'll admit to not having Steamwatch installed currently, largely beacuse after almost 18 months of being with 'Node it never once triggered to tell me Steam was accessing content from overseas. Thus never got reinstalled when I went to Win7).
