One of our favourite games this year comes from the brilliant Double Fine Studios and the mind of one Tim Schafer. It stars Jack Black as a roadie who gets transported back in time to an era where everything reflected metal iconography; hot-rod exhaust trees, boars that are half motorcycle, spiders that spin guitar strings for web... honestly, what's not to love?

Brutal Legend is an excellent game with an amazing story, tight scripting, great voice-acting and some of the best art-direction I've ever seen in a videogame. It also has one of the best soundtracks ever.

For our full run-down, check out the AusGamers review.

Felt like it wrapped up too quickly, like they were planning a third act where you go back to the tainted part of the world and fight the demons and liberate bladehenge and stuff, but then it got cut and you go straight from fighting the drowning doom to the last boss.

Still awesome though, some of the most fun I've had playing a game for years!

Agreed, looked like another section was going to pop in to play with a whole new set of enemies... then done. Maybe that's where the DLC will come in to play.

Either way, wasn't a very long game and replayability isn't really there (other than loading it up later for the fond memories). But DAMN it was good! Worth every cent and I don't care about it's length because it was done soo right.

Though the review read more like a step-by-step walkthrough for the intro (which i agree was brilliant).

Still love all the comments when he first gets his wings and the moment with the guardian of metal when they both say nothing... And LAZER PANTHERS! Man, maybe I WILL have to play through it again :D

i must say eddie is probably the best character ever concieved. having grown up with the likes of duke ect i have seen plenty of characers but not since duke has there been a character like this and i simply think eddie is better due to actually having a story where as duke just has witty lines.
