We've been hearing a lot about videogame film adaptations lately and here's yet another one.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed early rumblings of a movie based on inFAMOUS, the recent PlayStation 3 exclusive third-person action game.
Comic movie veterans Avi and Ari Arad are attached to produce and screenwriter Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard) has been hard at work writing.
"What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc," Turner said. "It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is."
While inFAMOUS was a decent game, I'd hardly call it the first game with a big idea and character arc and would argue that those were far from the game's strongest points. Perhaps that will help a movie adaptation though as they won't be upsetting too many people if they change too many things.
Interestingly, Avi and Ari Arad are also attached to produce another videogame to film adaptation for Sony based on the awesome Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

More excited to see what comes of Uncharted though. It needs Nathan Fillion to play Drake!
