Not slouching in the media department in the lead up to the game's release, Eidos and Rocksteady Games have given us an all-new Batman: Arkham Asylum trailer, this time showcasing the game's main villains and giving a few quick glimpses at what are clearly boss battles (I know, because I reached the Bane boss battle in a recent extended hands-on).

The video is a short and sweet teaser, and once again I can't reiterate enough just how much better this game is to play than watch in these snippets.

You can check out the full video here. But for our E3 hands-on click here, and for more media and info, check out our game page.

that actually looks really cool. If they keep it nice and dark and hardcore I'd be pretty tempted to check it out. I assume it is based on this graphic novel which is one of my faves?

Dave, nah it's its own entity. But was still written by Batman comic veteran, Paul Dini.

Having played close to three hours worth of it a few weeks ago, I can honestly tell you it's utterly mature, incredibly dark and one of my most anticipated releases of this year. There's some really twisted stuff I'm not allowed to mention which rules.

Yeah, this looks awesome, probably the game I'm looking forward to the most this year (well, unless Mass Effect 2 is coming out this year, then it'd be a tie).

greazy - we touched on the combat system here but if you're too lazy to find it:
At first, I will admit, it took a little getting used to, but the combat system crafted for Batman: Arkham Asylum is damn near perfect. This game does not have its AI waiting their turn to attack you - they'll attack all at once which means on top of a good offensive, Batman requires just as good defence. This comes in the form of a reversal button (applied to Y on the Xbox 360 controller), utilised when an enemy's head appears to be electrically on fire (think Spider-man's Spider Sense tingling from the comics), hit Y when you see the indicator and Batman will contextually reverse any move being thrown at him. Moreover, this can (and will) be thrown into the middle of any fisticuffs combo, meaning you can literally string together massive combos, against multiple enemies, all at once, and because of a stunning contextual animation system, it all flows together beautifully.
On a side note, my aforementioned extended hands-on revealed when playing the game on Hard, the attack indicators on enemy heads don't appear - you have to judge their animations, keeping you well on your toes throughout. It's f*****g awesome.

Might have to dust off my 360 and give it a bash when we get it in at work. Really like the artwork and the gameplay looks nice as well.
