We've been sitting on these new Borderlands screenshots, anxiously awaiting the 2K Games embargo date, which hits today. So now we're proud to show off to you, the new look for Gearbox's Borderlands, which takes the gritty realism of the original vision and artistically livens it up with a stylish cel-shaded look that really took us by surprise (and personally reminds me of the Tank Girl comic art style).

You can check out the new images from our screenshots gallery (alongside the old ones for reference and comparison), and feel free to complain like this lot, or praise the team for making a bold move that will surely make them stand out.

I've never been so happy about a game being on the PC! Always loved cel-shaded games. There seems to be a lot of hate for cel-shaded games, which is probably because hardcore gamers think it's for children.

Dunno if its really cel shading, it has a lot more depth to it than cel shaded stuff typically does, but either way it looks f*****g awesome. I was already looking forward to Borderlands, but now I can't wait :P
