Capcom's annual Gamer's Day happened last week where they finally showed off more of the hotly anticipated Resident Evil 5 for Xbox 360 and PS3. According to reports from the event, the game is scheduled for an early '09 release and will introduce a new female character to work alongside series mainstay and Resi 5 protagonist, Chris Redfield.

Two new trailers were shown, both showcasing the numerous enemies Redfield will be facing as well as some of his new melee moves. For the most part, the game looks more like an updated Resi 4, but that's not a bad thing - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
