The official forums for Frontlines: Fuel of War carries
word that the demo for this recently-released title will be a little bit delayed:
Today, both Kaos Studios and THQ have agreed to postpone the multiplayer PC Demo. Studio development efforts are being applied to feature fixes and enhancements to support the existing community. Kaos Studios recognizes the overwhelming support the community has given since release and is doing everything they can to deliver the best gaming experience possible.
Hopefully we'll see them adding in something the retail version is sadly lacking - a standalone dedicated server to make running local servers a little bit easier. Like most multiplayer games that don't ship with decent tools to run servers, local servers are apparently few and far between at the moment.
