Activision have announced the latest downloadable content for Guitar Hero III, available today from both the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store. The Modern Metal Pack will feature three metal songs from a diverse group of bands; Deftones - "Hole In The Earth", Avenged Sevenfold - "Almost Easy", and Thrice - "The Arsonist" (one of my faves). Moreover, to celebrate St Patrick's Day, Acti will also be offering up a free track pack from drunken boston blue-collar punk veterans, The Dropkick Murphys. The pack will include master recordings of "Famous For Nothing", "(F)lannigan's Ball", and "Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya".

Both track packs are available to download right away from the Xbox Live Marketplace, but won't be up on the PlayStation Store until a little later today.
