The EVE Online website carries a
warning for users that might be affected by a serious problem with the latest Premium Graphics Content patch deleting their boot.ini, thus making their systems unbootable. They've got a page with information on
how to fix it for those affected.

The version I heard was that it affects pretty much everyone that has Windows (prior to Vista) and Eve on the C: drive, until they pulled and fixed the patch.
The only patch affected is the one that upgrades the classic client to the premium graphics one.
Classic graphics users and full installer users are unaffected.
The problem is, the installer is supposed to delete an Eve file called boot.ini, but a programmer messed up and told it to delete "\boot.ini" instead of "boot.ini" so it will attempt to delete the file from the root of whatever drive Eve is installed on rather than from the (current) Eve folder.
Vista is unaffected since it does not use boot.ini, but all prior NT-based systems (NT4, 2K, XP, 2003) do.
