Valve Software have announced that Sam and Max is winging their way to their Steam content distribution platform:
Each Sam & Max episode sells on Steam for $8.95, with a 10% discount available the first week of release. To help customers get up to speed with the franchise, the first three episodes have been made available as a bundle for $19.95, with episodes 4 through 6 bundled for the same price point.
While I still have many reservations about how Steam works, there is little doubt that it is becoming a pretty incredible resource for gamers. Valve have been quietly snapping up a huge number of titles and making them available over Steam, so there is a pretty solid variety of titles available for purchase.

Yeah but you gotta hand it to Valve they are bypassing the publishers it would be good for the consoles because everyone who owns a console won't modify it. Although people with the console umm... just tend to want plug and play.

Imagine the potential for steam in the stupidity and lack of get-go in the console market where everyone wants to just put in a DVD/Blue-Ray and not have to configure everything. JUST FOR A SECOND... IMAGINE THE MONEY POTENTIAL FOR THAT. No more going to EB to buy console games. No need to go to Myer, David Jones or whatever all you would have to do is have the steam platform on your console.

1. Insert Steam CD.
2. Select Titles you want
3. Pay over credit card or whatever
4. Downloaded to your console.

You do know consoles have bigger hard drives these days.
