Ubisoft have announced that a multiplayer demo of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PC will be landing on June 7 (I assume that's June 7 in the USA):
In the multiplayer demo gamers abroad can get their first taste of the map CALAVERA, a map created exclusively for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter ® 2 PC. CALAVERA, already tested in the closed multiplayer beta, has been revisited and revised incorporating the feedback given by the closed beta participants.
The new Recon vs. Assault mode will have players fight their way through this Mexican village near the US border. As a member of the elite Ghost squad, gamers will need to use all of their know-how and expertise to stay hidden and sneak through small winding roads to locate and engage the enemy. As a Mexican rebel, players must be prepared to engage the Ghosts, using high calibre fire power, and must stop them at all cost.
For almost every FPS game Ubisoft have released in the last few years, I've relentlessly hounded the local office about dedicated server support - the Ghost Recon series has been sadly lacking in this respect, which has meant what is a cool tac-shooter has been left in the dust in terms of server support.
However, there's some light at the end of the tunnel, at least according to this forum post
, which states:
You can install it on any PC (no need to have the CD in the drive, no powerful GPU needed). It includes admin tools & remote control.
Great news! Hopefully the demo will have the same functionality.
